GuliKit NS51 vs 720 Adjustable Tension: Which Hall Effect Module Should You Get?

GuliKit 720 Adjustable Hall Effect joystick module

ExportAmericaLT builds use two different GuliKit Hall Effect joystick modules depending on what you order. Both eliminate the carbon potentiometer that causes drift. But they're not identical — here's what separates them and which one is right for your play style.

GuliKit NS51: The Precision Standard

The NS51 is GuliKit's flagship Hall Effect module for PS5 DualSense. It's a direct replacement for the factory joystick with identical form factor but TMR magnetic sensor instead of a potentiometer. What you get:

  • TMR Hall Effect sensor — no contact, no wear
  • Same throw distance and dead zone profile as factory
  • No tension adjustment — tension matches original feel
  • Consistent sensor accuracy over the life of the module

Best for: players who like the stock DualSense feel and just want drift eliminated.

GuliKit 720 Adjustable Tension: For Players Who Want More Control

The 720 adds one critical feature over the NS51: a physical tension adjustment dial built into the module. Using a small hex key, you can increase or decrease the resistance when moving the stick. This lets you tune the controller to your exact preference — from near-stock tension to significantly stiffer, tournament-level resistance.

Side-by-Side Comparison

Sensor type TMR Hall Effect TMR Hall Effect
Drift risk reduction Dramatic Dramatic
Tension adjustment No (fixed, stock-feel) Yes — adjustable range
Best for Casual to competitive Competitive / preference-focused
Price delta Lower Slightly higher

Which One Do We Recommend?

For most players — especially those coming from a stock DualSense — the NS51 is the better starting point. It feels familiar while solving the drift problem entirely. The 720 Adjustable is the right choice if you already know you prefer stiffer stick resistance (common among FPS competitive players) or if you want the ability to change tension as your preference evolves.
